About Us

We are a congregation of people who have committed ourselves to God and to the way of living that God revealed in Jesus Christ. We also are committed to others and to each other, caring for all as we are led by the Holy Spirit.

We belong to the stream of Christian believers known as Anabaptists and Mennonites. This compels us to live out our faith each day, following the example of Jesus-- working to bring healing, reconciliation and justice to all of our relationships and in all of our activities.

The people who worship together regularly on Sunday mornings come from around the world--Bolivia, Korea, Cambodia, Mexico, Canada and Tanzania. That means our music has a lot of variety--but with plenty of familiar, well-loved hymns, too. We have a lively group of children and a committed group of retired people and all the ages in between.

Our congregation is part of Mennonite Church USA and the Central District Conference of MC USA. This helps us connect to other churches and to God's mission in our own community and in the world.

We sponsor a preschool that uses our building during the school year; see more about Hively Avenue Preschool. We also rent our building to Rios de Agua Viva, a Spanish-speaking congregation that worships here on Sunday afternoons, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Our worship and activities

Sundays

We worship together at 9:30 on Sundays, and following a short time of fellowship gather together again for Christian education in classes by age and interest. Every other Sunday evening, the junior and senior high youth gather for Spaghetti and Scripture. Men in the congregation get together once a month for breakfast; women gather to do projects together.
